Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Anime Season 2 to Debut in May 2022

Today, Netflix released a teaser trailer for the second season of the anime Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045. The teaser reveals the season's main staff, returning main cast, and May global premiere on Netflix. It also announces that Millennium Parade will perform the theme songs, including the opening theme song heard in the video, "Secret Ceremony."

Ghost in the Shell, known in Japanese as "Koukaku Kidoutai," is based on Masamune Shirow's manga series, which debuted in Japan in 1989.

It sparked several movies and anime series, with many crediting the first "Ghost in the Shell" film, directed by Mamoru Oshii, with helping to popularize anime in western countries that missed the TV wave in the 1980s.

The franchise was later adapted by Hollywood in a 2017 film starring Scarlett Johanson, which received mixed reviews.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki, featuring character design by Ilya Kishinov. If you missed the original season you can check out its launch trailer here.

Masamune Shirow is once again credited as the original creator of the Ghost in the Shell manga, and the returning scriptwriters are Kamiyama (Eden of the East, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex), Ryou Higaki (The Eccentric Family, Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit), Kurasumi Sunayama (Yowamushi Pedal, Gurren Lagann), Harumi Doki (Ultraman, Cyborg 009 Call of Justice),
